Just in the last few months, watching Nolan’s version of The Odyssey and reading Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, I realized that in the late 1990s I watched TV adaptations of both:

–In May 1997 Andrei Konchalovsky directed a two-part adaptation of The Odyssey for NBC starring Armand Assante, Greta Scacchi, Irene Papas, Isabella Rossellini, Bernadette Peters, Eric Roberts, Geraldine Chaplin, Jeroen Krabbé, Christopher Lee and Vanessa Williams.

–In 1998 Joseph Sargent directed a TV movie adaptation of Crime and Punishment for NBC starring Patrick Dempsey, Ben Kingsley, and Julie Delpy.
