In the latest issue of First Things, I thought James Wood’s review of Keith Johnson’s new book on Barth and nationalism was fair-minded, judicious, irenic, and patient in its assessment and criticisms. Would be interested to hear Johnson’s reply.
I also just love to read Dan Hitchens' sentences, and his review of a new biography of Jan Morris is worth a read even to those who, like me, didn’t already know who Morris was.
