Certain critics shouldn’t be allowed to write a review after others do; their judgment is determined entirely in reaction to (what they perceive to be) others' thinking, especially if that thinking could be called “commonplace” or “mainstream” (as judged by online “discourse”). Instead, they should be provided the film, show, album, or book before anyone else on earth and required to submit a final draft of their review before even one other soul has had the chance to issue an opinion. Then we could see what they really think, if they think anything at all.
